There are actually no minimal hardware requirements. All you need is a standard web server that can efficiently run todoyu.

More information about software requirements can be found here. Once you're having todoyu installed and running, you can manage unlimited number of users and projects.

P.S. Although Linux based platform is our recommended server box you're able to install todoyu under any OS of your choice because it is platform independent.

todoyu runs on all newer major browsers, which are:

• Firefox 3.x, Firefox 4, Firefox 5 and we know Firefox 6 Beta is also ok
• Internet Explorer 8, Internet Explorer 9
• Chrome 8 - Chrome 13 (as you know there is a new version every other week - we try hard to keep up with it...)
• Opera 10, Opera 11
• Safari 4, Safari 5

Our favorites are currently (11.08.11 ) FF 5 and Chrome 13, but with every new version we have to reconsider ;-)

when wanting to re-run the installation from scratch, please make sure to delete todoyu's session cookie in your browser before.

Maybe your server has a problem with a setting in the .htaccess file.

Please open the .htaccess file (which is in the root folder of todoyu) with a text editor. Remove (or comment with #) the following line:

AddType application/x-httpd-php5 .php

If you can't see the file, please enable your system to show hidden files.

todoyu requires the multibyte functions to handle UTF-8 characters correctly.
It seems that on your server the multibyte extension for PHP isn't enabled.

To solve the problem, please install the PHP module php_mbstring on your server.

The Installer should start automatically. If it does not and you see the todoyu login-page (often with PHP errors) instead, please check if the file .htaccess exists in the root directory.

Some unpacking tools aren't capable of extracting hidden system files (as .htaccess is).

Please try unpacking with another tool to get the .htaccess file.

You can proceed without a .htaccess file too: just call the Installer directly with <toyoyuURL>/install

Yes, you always have the option to charge either by tracked time (or chargable time) or by a fixed price.

Yes, you can apply a hierarchical, role based multi-person approval process to your invoices.

The tracked time can be influenced by editing it directly in the corresponding task. We recommend this only if you really have tracked the time wrongly. We use the tracked time also for the personal timesheet and not only for billing purposes. So it might be possible that you do not want to charge the tracked hours, but less (or more).

The better way to influence the time you'd like to charge is to use the "Chargeable Time" option:
Just edit the tracked time in the corresponding tasks and you'll find two time fields: The Tracked Time and the Chargable Time. As long as the chargable time is set to 0 the tracked time will be used. As soon as you change the chargable time this will be used for the invoicings. This way you do not change the correctly tracked time but only the chargable time. The tracked time might be also used for reportings (there is even a report comparing tracked times to chargable times).

Prepayments are supported in fixed price projects. In T&M projects this is not supported (since in these kind of projects this does not really make sense).

Yes, that feature is integrated in todoyu. 

Hourly rates are grouped into so called “Rate sets”. Rate sets (and their respectively included rates) define the hourly rate charged for the activity type of a task. You can have several rate sets in todoyu - this way you also can assign different rate sets to different projects.

No. Every SaaS package comes with unlimited todoyu users for your company and clients.

Depending on the SaaS package you are using, the server hardware resources allocated to your installation will be limited. Therefore we stated the recommended number of users per SaaS package.

You subscribed to the trial package and during testing you get the feeling that an important feature for you is missing. What to do? Report it to us by either send an e-mail or even better share it with others at the message board.

The 30-day free trial only applies if you sign up for a trial plan, not to a paid package. There is no free trial period offered for the paid SaaS packages.

10 days before your trial period expires, you receive an e-mail from us.
