todoyu 2.1 beta 4 released

Today we finally have released the fourth beta of todoyu 2.1 - your powerful project management system. It was planned to have it ready on Tuesday this week. But some nasty issues slowed down the development. Sorry for the delay.

This release contains tons of fixes. We have been pretty picky and therefore fixed many, many little issues. And we finally rounded up some features already present in previous betas. Curious about what has changed?

  • Calendar: Define the default behaviour for your reminders in your profile.
  • Calendar: Let todoyu remind you by email or by a pop-up - define in your profile or by a single event how you want to get reminded.
  • Rights and security: We have made a complete review of all rights and security related accesses. Shields up, your safe!
  • First steps wizard: To make sure that you can start working with todoyu in an easy way we now have completed the 'first steps wizard'.
  • Containers have a new look. So it's easier to distinguish between tasks and containers.
  • Textareas automatically get resized when typing long textes.
  • More filters (you never can have enough of them ;-) )
  • and many, many features more... For further details: Have a closer look at your extension-folders: We have placed a detailed change log in each root!

get the brand new todoyu 2.1 first public beta

This first public beta release for 2.1 comes with lots of great new features. But we not only implemented new functionalities - we also fixed tons of bugs and improved the software architecture pretty much.

Some highlights

  • Never forget a meeting again: The calendar now comes with reminders for your meetings.
  • Ease your daily work: We implemented task presets on project base.
  • Plan better: Containers now also have a start and end date. Additionally they have a status too.
  • Export contacts, projects, tasks and time sheets as CSV
  • Language: todoyu now also supports country specific languages with fallbacks to a main language
  • To make the installation process and the initial setup even easier we have implemented a first steps wizard. This wizard guides you throught the whole configuration process.
  • All forms have been completly rebuilt and got a new look&feel.
  • Forgot your password? The login process has been reworked an improved with a "password forgotten" functionality.
  • Edit your personal data comfortable in your personal settings.
  • Improved staff selector for the calendar view. With the new mechanism the selection of the different persons is much easier.

What's next

Releasing a beta means we will not implement new features in the core. So in the next days and weeks we only will fix bugs and do some minor changes.

But beside of the core we will also release a bunch of new and really cool new extensions:

  • Reportings
  • Visualization of tasks in a timeline
  • Switch to different user (for admins only)

So in the next days we will concentrate on the following two things: Fix bugs and continue our work on these extensions. To speed up the process you can help us: Test the beta release and report all issues. Your feedbacks are very welcome!
